About The Tour

The largest cycling event in America, the 2009 Amgen Tour of California is a Tour de France-style cycling road race presented by AEG that challenges the world’s top professional cycling teams to compete along a demanding, recently expanded, 750-mile course from Sacramento to Escondido from February 14-22, 2009. 

Founded in 2005, Breakaway from Cancer continues to raise awareness and funds to support valuable services and programs, provided free of charge, that help people living with cancer. The initiative was created by Amgen as a complementary component to the company's sponsorship of the Amgen Tour of California. This year, the initiative continues to support the important programs and tools offered by the National Coalition for Cancer Survivor-ship and The Wellness Community.

I feel like a sponge when I spend a day at Studio B with Lee Peterson.... I just wish I could be a giant sponge...or maybe "Sponge Bob"  :)

Valentines Day Early Hours

Ofcourse we start each day with our 6am walk on the greens....  well I walk and enjoy nature at it's best.... it's really "Quigley Time" ... she runs as hard as she can chasing rabbits, birds, ducks and playing with her other canine friends... it's her "favorite" time of day!

The Long & Winding Road

I love these canopy covered winding roads... and I u-turned several times to finally get the shot.....(other cars, bicycles, lots of traffic), the lighting, the shadows, the curves...awwwwww a pretty drive... so here are several variation of it.... enjoy!

Lake Hodges is Burnt Rancheria - Cleveland National Forest

Today Lake Hodges Dam was dry for this time of year, but the lake was beautiful and San Diego skies were bright blue... temperatures in mid 70's.  Nice day for nature hike.

Hodges Reservoir is located approximately 31 miles north of San Diego, on the San Dieguito River, which enters the ocean at Del Mar. 

The dirt hiking and riding trails around much of the lake wind through ever-changing terrain and biological settings which include streams, lush river valleys, canopied oak forests, arid rocky terrain and open fields. The topography changes from elevated vistas to marsh-like wetlands. There are accessible staging areas at five locations along the seven mile primary route.  "San Dieguito River Park"

Lake Hodges is ordinarily a reasonably waterless place; the month with most of the rain is January, and July on the other hand is the driest. You're sure to run into some nice people from San Diego-Carlsbad-San Marcos here; Los Penasquitos Creek is a splendid  whitewater spot nearby.  Hodges Dam is a gorgeous place, absolutely worth stopping at.

When full, the reservoir has 1,234 surface acres, a maximum water depth of 115 feet, and 27 shoreline miles. Water levels are monitored weekly.
